Smiling Ear to Ear

She kneeled beside her son, her arm around him.  Mom does it start like this? He asked, as he pointed with his pointer finger.  “Don’t worry”.  Yes, his mom replied.  He continued, “about anything”.  He held up the next finger, “Instead pray about everything”.  He glanced at his mom again; she was smiling ear to ear and shaking her head up and down in reassurance.  The next finger went into the air,  “Tell God what you need”.  The pinky now joined the other raised fingers, “and thank Him for all he has done”.  As he raised his thumb he finished his memory verse looking at his mom, "Philippians 4:6".  Now he was smiling ear to ear. 

As his small group leader my smile spanned across my face too.  We gave each other high fives then he raced off to play with the others in the construction center. 

Helping families raise growing 3C Christ followers is the mission of Kids' City.   One way we come along side families is to introduce a series memory verse for the children to learn with their family.  Another way is by providing Kids’ City resources at most of our campuses.  These resources are the same as the ones you will find in your child’s small group in Kids’ City.  For example, The First Virtues for Toddlers book for WiggleWay , The Beginner’s Bible and the Touch the Sky cd for WiggleWay and JumpStreet, the Hands On Bible, 3C Journal and Yancy cd used in Uptown and Club 45 are the items you can currently find in the Kids’ City NewsStand.  Check out your NewsStand today!  With Easter soon approaching these would make great additions to your child’s Easter basket or a fun gift for another special child in your life.  See your Kids’ City Director or your child’s small group leader for more information.
