In the Fall of 2003, Community 4:12 began a partnership with Brady Elementary School in East Aurora, a “port of entry” Hispanic community. We shared a vision with the school’s principal of transforming the community around his school. Using the school as our ministry hub, we started several outreach programs including: tutoring, Book Club, community events, teacher appreciation activities, and parent mentoring.
Over the years we have expanded our partnership to include several other schools in the district, a number of churches, non-profits, and the city government. Our goal has been to build relationships and the trust of the community to lay the groundwork for bringing a bilingual campus to the area. Our dream is to open a community and cultural center in East Aurora that would bring economic and development opportunities to the community, such as incubator businesses, a school for the arts, and youth and adult programming.
