East Aurora Opportunity to Contribute

Statistics reveal that if a child is not reading at grade level by the end of third grade, a 74% chance exists that they will never catch up. Yet, 40% of Aurora students can’t read at grade level and 70% of Aurora 4th grade low income students can’t read at grade level. Research indicates that children in poverty own ten times fewer books than middle income families You can help us make a difference in the future of these kids…

Join Triple Threat Mentoring in a much needed library renovation project to update East Aurora’s Beaupre Elementary School Library. The project target is to provide a better resourced, organized and more user friendly learning resource center to support after school literacy programming and academic achievement for low income students at Beaupre Elementary. We’re excited to offer this fun volunteer opportunity as part of Triple Threat’s commitment to invest in East Aurora kids in the areas of athletics, academics and arts.

Got 3 hours to give?

20 volunteers are needed (adults or high school students only please).Volunteers can sign up for either or both days/times:

• Tuesday, July 8th from 11:30am – 2:30pm
• Thursday, July 10th from 11:30am – 2:30pm

Attention Carpenters

Some basic 6’ bookshelves will need to be constructed as part of the project. Other ways to contribute include:

• Donations of materials for bookshelves
• Donations for pizza for volunteers
• Cash donations to purchase library books, supplies, storage containers etc…
