Who We Are

COMMUNITY’s Mission is helping people find their way back to God. We accomplish this by reaching people far from God, restoring God’s dream for the world, and reproducing this mission in others.

3 C’s

At COMMUNITY, there are three key relationships that help you develop a growing relationship with Jesus:

Celebrate: Me & God – We gather every weekend to celebrate what God is doing as we yield our lives more fully to Him.
Connect: Me & The Church – We build relationships with others and experience biblical community through small groups.
Contribute: Me & The World – We contribute our time, talents and resources to further the Jesus Mission in our communities and in the world.

3 R’s

Reaching those who are far from God – We live out the Jesus Mission together in community through our small groups and ministries.

Restoring God’s dream for the worldCommunity Cares is a ministry dedicated to uniting people to be a catalyst for restoration in our communities.  Global Ministries is dedicated to changing the world one person at a time.

Reproducing the mission in others – We are a reproducing church that furthers the Jesus Mission by reproducing leaders, artists, locations, and churches here at COMMUNITY and around the world through NewThing.

Our Story

COMMUNITY is a church that began as the dream of 5 friends from college who wanted to create a place that would help people find their way back to God. Services were first held in the Naperville Central High School cafeteria, and 8 years later COMMUNITY launched its first additional location in Romeoville, IL. COMMUNITY’s vision is three-fold. To be: 1) An Impact Church – A church that will have a lasting impact on the people and places we engage. 2) A Reproducing Church – A church that will start new campuses and churches all over the world. 3) A Catalyst for a Movement – In 2001, COMMUNITY formed NewThing, a church-planting mission that now includes churches all over the world.

COMMUNITY is one church with locations all over Chicagoland reaching people who are far from God, restoring God’s dream for the world and reproducing that mission in others. In 1997 COMMUNITY was holding services at one location in Naperville when a local developer asked if they would consider moving their church to a new community development in Romeoville. Rather than move, the leadership decided to start a second location, thus creating our Romeoville Campus. Today COMMUNITY is considered one of the pioneers of Multi-Site ministry with multiple locations all across Chicagoland.
