1,000 bars of soap. 8 campuses. Kids' City children are making an IMPACT around the globe! We often forget how generous children can be and how many times they truly "get it" when it comes to making an IMPACT. As part of our recent IMPACT series in Kids' City we've started a new Giving Back To God project. Over the next two years children will have an opportunity to support "The World C.U.P"
each week by being generous with what they have and bringing their
offering to make a financial difference in 3 places around the world. C is for Chicago where we dream of starting 3 new Kids' Cities within 3 campuses. U is for Uganda where we hope to help build a clinic and school.
P is for the Philippines were we are excited to help orphans living in
a local garbage dump to find shelter and support through a local
organization committed to serving these children.
Along
with our new Giving Back To God project, we also decided to send a
physical reminder of our hopes and prayers to the other side of the
world. Kids from age 3 through
5th grade received a small wrapped bar of soap which they decorated and
prayed over. Half the soap will go to Uganda and the other half to the
Philippines. Children took such time and effort to bundle their love and prayers into these little packages that it was amazing to watch.
If you have children in Kids' City, talk about making an IMPACT as a family. Include them in your conversations about how you can make a difference with your time, money and talents. Challenge them to make a difference in their school and their community. Remind them that everyone has a choice to IMPACT their world and has a role to play on God's team. It can happen in something as simple as one bar of soap at a time.
