I call
ed Chris before group (my apprentice and host) to let him know that I was so impacted by the message this past weekend that I wanted us to spend the bulk of our time in prayer. He didn't answer his phone so I left a message. My Small Group waiting for me (I was on time) Mike, Marc, Chris and John...(I tagged Mike as his son Ethan as he was also at group, just not in the picture) When I got to group they were all standing outside, pretty excited and looking like the cat that ate the mouse. (or lion that ate the gazelle, since they are all manly men) They had a plan!
Chris and Marc were also impacted by the message and when Chris heard my message he coupled that with his desire to be outside on a great evening. He enlisted Marc's help (funny, since they are former Marine/Navy guys) and what transpired was one of the most relaxing and inspiring small group experiences I have had in a long time.
So here is how it went down: They took the key points of the message and wrote their rendition of them on the sidewalk around the retention pond (about a mile walk) Mike had to borrow shoes, cause he didn't have his walkin' shoes. Each person left by themselves to start walking and talking with God reflecting on these topics, just to name a few...
