This year for the FIRST time CCC-PIlsen is going to be hosting a VBS program July 11-17!  We have our fearless leader/intern Natalie who will be leading the team. She has great ideas and a great vision for the VBS:"To show kids that Jesus loves them, and because we, as His followers, are filled with that love, we love them, too. In the midst of a world trying to tear them down, I want to build these precious kids up by demonstrating love."
 

If you are not currently contributing, there is a great new opportunity to get involved! The Set-Up and Tear Down team will be responsible to get everything ready on Sunday mornings for service , and taking down everything in the gym after service [stage set up, projection, multimedia, audio, etc], as well as greeting people and serving during the services.

Refresh your relationships with COUPLES. Couples is a special small group for those who want to strengthen their marriages or relationships in a fun and casual environment. You can attend alone or with your spouse. This group will equip you with practical tools about improving communication, handling conflict, and building intimacy in an interactive & fun way. 

Calling all women! Come join us every Sunday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Orozco Academy as we embark on a journey to seek out how to live the Christian life victoriously. We will explore how to lay aside the different weights and hindrances that burden us and keep us from experiencing the freedom that the Lord longs for us to enjoy.  

Join us for our monthly prayer gathering on Wednesdays at the Pilsen COMMUNITY offices at 7:30 pm.   The gathering is open to anyone who would like to celebrate with God in what He is doing in our church and in the world.  Feel free to bring you whole small group. Denver and the Mile High Orchestra will be performing an evening concert at the Yellow Box on Sunday, July 13, at 7:00 p.m. Additionally, DMHO is providing a unique opportunity to learn directly from the musicians themselves in a series of Master Classes.Denver and the Mile High Orchestra is a popular horn driven pop band recently ranking in the top 3 on Fox TV’s show, The Next Great American Band. To date they have released 7 records and one DVD, with another album slated for release in 2008. They have also performed at the Olympics and The Gospel Music Awards.

Since I have been on staff at COMMUNITY have seen us grow from 2 locations to 9 locations; 1,000 weekend attenders to now over 5,000!   With this growth, our team of Small Group Directors has recognized that it has become increasingly difficult to provide ministry specific training - until NOW!  Presenting...Connect '08: COMMUNITY Small Groups Conference...better than ice cream! 

At Community, we're passionate about helping people find their way back to God. So there's nothing more exciting than hearing the stories that come as the result of true life change from people that attend our church. Soon we'll be creating a whole new section on the web site to showcase and share these stories.  If you have your own story of life change, we would love to hear it!

Another great time was had by the CCC Riders Motorcyclists as they visited the Yellow box in Naperville June 1st at the 11am service.

Next months ride is to the Shorewood Campus on July 6th. We'll worship at the 11am service, then ride out to STARVED ROCK for lunch.
