2 quick yet friendly reminders for you: First, don’t forget there is no celebration service at Montgomery this Saturday night, so go out and enjoy your 4th of July night! But do come Sunday morning July 5th (9:30am or 11am), the usual times, for our next installment of The Real OT as we talk about Sarah and how God sometimes calls us to wait. They will also be special “family services” which means your kids get to worship with you, and you get to hear the message live from Shannon (our Kids City Director) and Tim (our Stuco Director)!
Second, if you are seeking direction for what God wants next for you, I think one of the most helpful and practical steps you can take is to take our Lifemap Class. You’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of how God wired you up: your personality-type, your spiritual gifts, and your passions. And it’s just a lot of fun! We are offering Lifemap on Saturday July 18th from 9am to noon. Just email Carter Moss if you want to sign up. And if you missed services last weekend, we made an exciting announcement:
We announced our brand new Montgomery Campus Small Groups Director—Jenn Moss! She has an incredible proven track record of leadership, is already running with the role, and will be a perfect fit. So let her know next time you see her that you’re excited for her, and definitely let her know if you want help getting connected or have questions about small groups. (jennmoss@communitychristian.org) I hope you have a fun 4th of July weekend with family & friends. Thank you for being part of our Montgomery family—God is definitely on the move here!

Beyond the usual, there are 3 Great Reasons To Come To CCC Montgomery This Weekend (June 27/28)!
- Our first big campus party of the summer is Saturday night at 6pm: It’s our BBQ & Baptisms (& Blues)! Come hang out with your friends from our campus (and meet some new ones) while you enjoy some free BBQ, celebrate 2 awesome baptisms, and then enjoy some amazing live music from one of our own musicians, Dan Becker (he’s the one who sang/played the blues song so beautifully 2 weeks ago). Feel free to bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share, but it’s not required!
- We are starting a brand new summer series called “The Real OT”, where we’ll dig into the lives of different Old Testament characters and see what we can learn from them.
- We are making 2 more exciting announcements (1 related to our campus, 1 related to CCC as a whole) that you don’t want to miss!
Also, don’t forget that the Stuco-fundraiser Car Wash is this Saturday from 10am – 2pm. It’s your chance to support our amazing student ministry, and get a nice clean car without doing all that annoying work!
I love seeing the steps people at our campus are taking in their spiritual lives—it is evidence that God is on the move here, and we are up to something far more than just holding church services. People are making decisions to get baptized, start being generous, connect into accountability, serve inside the church and outside, and more.
In fact, in case you weren’t around last weekend, we celebrated 2 more people at our campus who are taking big-time missional steps, as they trade in more of their lives to play a huge part in God’s mission:
- We celebrated that Kevin Macdonald is going to be the Kids City Director at our new Aurora North Campus!
- And we celebrated that Andrew Holdorf is going to be the Small Groups Director at that same campus!
It’s exciting being a part of God’s crazy ride around here—and I’m glad you are a part of it! Hope to see you this weekend….

Did you know that all of those wonderful snacks we enjoy at weekend Celebration services are actually provided by volunteers? We have a team of volunteers who faithfully bake (or buy) snacks to share at weekend services. Beyond just keeping us well-fed and bribing people with cookies, this serves as an important part in our mission of creating an environment that helps people find their way back to God and experience real community.
As we head in to summer we would like to add to this team and we would like YOU to be a part of it! It's a simple and fun way to get involved in serving. Choose a service you would like to bring snacks (Saturday at 5 PM, Sunday at 9:30 or Sunday at 11 AM), and we will send you a reminder once a month to bring your snacks that weekend. It's that easy! You can be as creative as you want and you will hear everyone rave about your "secret recipe" cookies!
If you're interested, email Diane (diane.friel@phonak.com) and get more info!

Remember that exciting weekend at church a couple of weeks ago? We
finally got the videos uploaded for all to see. So here you go. First off is Linkin Park's "Easier to Run," featuring lead rapping by your Campus Pastor... Second are the baptisms, all students from our Stuco ministry. It's
hard to really feel the power and excitement of the moment by just
watching it here on video, but hopefully you get at least a taste of
it. Watch the Videos

Never would I have thought attending a home-school Christmas play would
bring me back to God and more! I was well aware my existence was
completely lacking spirituality…but I would never know the complete
extent. Before my rut, I was a pretty cool/normal person. I’d helped
a couple of elderly people with groceries, I volunteered here and
there. I was aware of a Higher power, but felt I didn’t
have to have any formal accountability. I guess you could say I was
the stereotypical South Side Irish Catholic.
