Reproducing Church Team (NewThing)

Hi, I’m Eric Metcalf, Director of NewThing.  I’d like to invite YOU to join our Reproducing Team - a team dedicated to helping the 67% of the people who are far from God – by recruiting and equipping emerging leaders to plant reproducing churches.

NewThing started six years ago, and because of the generosity of many Christ-followers, we’ve been able to equip thousands of church leaders, and a growing number of church planters. Today we have churches in places like Boston, New York, San Francisco, Miami and L.A. just to name a few.  NewThing consists of six networks with 4-6 churches within that network. Each network is led by one of our NewThing Lead Pastors. For example, Dave Dummitt, former NewThing Leadership Resident, now heads a network of four NewThing churches and one church plant. In the next few months we’ll see these 6 networks reproduce to almost 15 networks; helping us reach our goal of 52 NewThing sites.  Literally thousands of people are finding their way back to God.

As a result of last year’s Celebration Generosity, we:

• Launched multiple NewThing Churches and/or campuses in L.A., San Francisco, Miami, New York, Detroit, East Aurora, and much more (IKON Community Church and Anthem Church to name a few).
• Provided residency for 20 Leadership Residents at COMMUNITY and NewThing Churches.
• Invested in the training of our NewThing Churches through our NewThing Gatherings held twice a year.
• Reproducing 3 new networks in North Carolina, Philippines and Milwaukee, WI.
• Recruited, trained and launched a Turbo Network that will release 5 new networks by April. 
  

Here’s what we want to do this next year:

• Double the number of church sites across NewThing to 104 – that’s 104 churches and/or campuses helping find their way back to God by Dec 2010.
  
• Recruit and equip 37 Leadership Residents by Oct 2010.  These are leaders who live and work right alongside us at COMMUNITY and other NewThing churches.  We’ve found that a Leadership Residency is the best way to equip these leaders to start new, reproducing churches.
  
• Provide grants for Leadership Residents that will result in 100 new church plants.
  
• Provide grants towards NewThing churches for more church plants.
  
• Invest in leadership training for NewThing Churches through our web site
  

These are all great initiatives that we are very excited about, but what really wakes us up every morning and keeps so focused on goals is our mission to help people find their way back to God.  We thought we would share with you a story of someone who found their way back to God at NewThing Church, Jacob’s Well - Click here to watch Tom's Story

We need YOUR help to make this happen:
During our celebration services March 6/7, we will be devoting the entire service to celebrate generosity to these four teams. We hope to make this our largest offering all year long.
