Kim and Joe Taylor’s journey to becoming Christ-followers began at an early age. Both had knowledge of God and were taught about His love and compassion early in their childhood. But as life’s challenges came along, the years distanced them from God and He ended up on the back burner.
After finding love with each other, Joe and Kim had four loving children, a committed marriage and successful careers. Despite being blessed in their personal lives, they had nothing to fill the emptiness each felt inside. They began to search for something more and five years ago, Kim and Joe were invited to attend COMMUNITY by their friends Rachel and Denton Green. After discovering there might be a possibility that God was calling them back to Him, they decided to check out COMMUNITY.
As Joe and Kim grew closer to God, they began to feel whole. They began to experience Christ's love through the people they met at COMMUNITY and it filled them with compassion and peace. Not only did they begin to feel different in their hearts, but they began to see the influence COMMUNITY was having on their children as well. Little did either of them know how important and influential their children’s relationships with Jesus would be in their own personal walks with God.
This past February, their son attended Student Community’s annual BLAST retreat to the Wisconsin Dells. During BLAST, their son was impacted by the love of Christ and he decided to get baptized. When he returned home, he shared his experience with his parents. Joe and Kim were so touched by the commitment and dedication their son had taken toward becoming a Christ-follower, so they decided to join him on the journey.
Kim and Joe Taylor were baptized on March 8, 2009. Not only is this an amazing story, but to make things even more impactful, Joe and Kim were baptized by their son. They have publicly proclaimed that Jesus Christ is their Savior, committed their lives to living their lives at Christ-followers.
